Not getting clients from email? This is why.
Most Coaches Get This Wrong. Don’t Be One of Them. Most coaches aren’t using email right, which, if this is you, is why you aren’t getting clients from it. I'm sharing what you can do about it to fix it, and fast.

Welcome to The Find Coaching Clients Newsletter for learning where to focus your energy, so you can find plenty of clients.
If you’re not getting clients from email, it’s not because email doesn’t work. It’s usually one of 3 reasons:
You’re not emailing often enough (or at all).
You’re not using a CTA that leads to sales (You’re not comfortable with it).
You don’t know what to write about (so your emails are inconsistent).
Most coaches either avoid email entirely or send the occasional “check-in” but don’t have an approach that builds real momentum.
It’s OK. It’s actually quite common in my conversations with coaches.
The good news? Email is fixable. You just need a system.
The IEP Method: So You Always Know What to Send
If you’ve ever stared at a blank screen thinking, What the heck do I send this week? This is for you.
The IEP Method (Inspire, Educate, Promote) is a simple, repeatable system that keeps your emails valuable and profitable. Each is a type of email:
Inspire – Share a story, win, or insight to connect emotionally.
Educate – Teach something useful that positions you as the expert.
Promote – Offer a next step (without feeling cringe-y).
Most coaches either never sell (because they don’t want to be annoying) or they only sell (because they don’t know what else to send).
The IEP Method balances both, so you stay top of mind and make sales without the cringe.
The ‘Warm Lead to Client’ Sequence: Your Email Funnel Without the Funnel
Your subscribers are warm leads, but without a path from reader → client, they’ll stay just that: readers. (Warm leads means that they are somewhat familiar with you and not completely "cold" or unfamiliar with you.)
The Fix:
Use the IEP Method to build trust before making an offer.
Always include a CTA (even if it’s simply to “Do something for yourself today”).
Rotate between a soft sell, a direct promo, and The Open Door P.S. so your list always knows how to work with you.
Btw, the Open Door P.S. is when you share more ways you can help, for example, a free piece of content, a paid offer, or a video, etc. This keeps making an offer, casual, un-intrusive, and easy.

The Subject Line Hook.
I don’t like the word “Hook”, but it is an industry word that simply explains the act of grabbing attention, so I tolerate it, lol.
Today, when you write your email, do this with your subject line:
Keep it 6-8 words.
Use sentence-case, no all caps, and no emojis or exclamation points.
Try one of these “hook” formulas:
Curiosity Hook: “You’re making this email mistake (I was too).”
Urgency Hook: “Why you should email your list TODAY (not later).”
Problem-Solution Hook: “Struggling to get clients from email? Do this.”
You can write the best email in the world, but if your subject line isn't grabbing attention? It won’t get read.
It takes some time and practice, but it's 100% worth the effort to get clients from email.
Small changes = more opens = more people reading = more clients.

Your Energy Creates Your Reach
Most coaches avoid email because they feel like it’s “too much” or they don’t have clarity around it.
But your audience wants to hear from you. (Even if you only have 5 people on your list.)
They joined your list for a reason.
If you’re emailing with doubt or hesitation, they’ll feel it. If you’re emailing with clarity and purpose, they’ll feel that too.
Your energy makes a difference.
Dr. Joe Dispenza said, "You cannot create anything in your life that you feel separate from."
So make sure you add plenty of "you" in your emails, so you're connected and in alignment with what you send - bring the energy that attracts clients.

So much of what is involved in building and growing a business is uncomfortable. Sending emails included!
It’s vulnerability and visibility which can be oh-so-unnerving.
This is exactly what I talk about in this episode of The Solo Coach Podcast: The Power of Vulnerability & Visibility: How Being Real Builds Your Business. Listen & Enjoy!
And if you’re feeling like you have too much to email about and are afraid of how to get everything in without bombarding with excess, unhelpful stuff… I share an example on Coach Diaries, Grow Your List without Driving Subscribers Crazy.
Plus you can hear the latest on my super ambitious goal to grow my email list by 4,000 subscribers in 2025 without any paid ads or complicated strategies.
Much love.
